Sarah found her path in East Asian Medicine through her combined inclination towards medicine, nature, art, and movement, all of which guide her in her practice. In establishing Arrowmaker she hopes to serve the Gorge community by offering acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in the treatment of chronic and acute conditions, mental health and wellness, and more. Her formal education in the field began at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine from 2016-2020, where she received her Master's in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the one of the leading TCM institutions in the US. Guidance and inspiration from teachers led her to discover a greater resonance with the more classical and ancient roots of the medicine. Starting in 2021, she embarked on her quest towards a deeper relationship with Classical Chinese Medicine (CCM) at the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences in Oakland, CA, where she officially received her doctorate (DAOM) in the field in 2025. There she led robust study of CCM herbalism and acupuncture, as well as orthopedic acupuncture. She has studied with some the profession's most celebrated CCM teachers including Brandt Stickley, Heiner Fruehauf, Genevieve LeGoff, Kumiko Shirai and more. She has worked closely with Brandt since 2019 in the Shen-Hammer Pulse System as well as Chinese Medicine Psychology through the work of his teacher and mentor, Leon Hammer, in his book Dragon Rises, Red Bird Flies.
